Oujda: Morocco’s national soccer team thrashed Lesotho 7-0 (5-0 in 1st half-time) on Monday evening at the Stade d’Honneur in Oujda, as part of the 6th and final matchday of Group B qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations (Morocco-2025).
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Atlas Lions secured their victory with a hat-trick from Brahim Diaz, who scored in the 5th, 15th, and 42nd minutes. Sofiane Rahimi added two goals, including a penalty in the 45th minute plus additional time. Further contributions came from Youssef En-Nesyri in the 68th minute and Ismael Saibari in the 70th minute.
This dominant performance allowed Morocco to finish at the top of its group with a perfect record, accumulating 18 points from six consecutive wins. They stand ahead of Gabon, which secured 10 points and has already qualified for the next AFCON by defeating the Central African Republic 1-0 in their respective match.
