Morocco: 10.9 Mln Tourists in 2022 (Minister)

In response to a central question on “the assessment of the tourist season 2022”, during the oral question session in the House of Advisors, Ammor stressed that the Kingdom has managed to recover nearly 84% of tourists during the past year compared to 2019, noting that this level exceeds by 20% the global recovery rate.

She added that tourism revenues in foreign currency stood at 81.7 billion dirhams at the end of November, a recovery rate of 112%, saying that this result is due to the wise approach adopted by the Kingdom in managing the health crisis, under the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which has strengthened the credibility of Morocco at the international level.

Regarding domestic tourism, Amour said that the rate of recovery exceeds 101% compared to 2019, noting that the number of tourist nights has increased to 7.9 million, or +27% compared to 2021 and +1% compared to 2019.
