Manama: In line with Bahrain’s national efforts toward carbon neutrality, announced by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and in observance of the National Tree Week, launched by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC), along with Ali Mohammed Al Majed, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee, and Shaikh Ahmed bin Salman Al Khalifa, Executive Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs at the Bahrain Paralympic Committee, planted several trees.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the tree planting event is part of a broader initiative aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and increasing green spaces across Bahrain. The participation of the BPC officials underscores the commitment of various sectors within the kingdom to contribute to these national goals. The initiative seeks to engage diverse stakeho
lders, including governmental bodies, non-governmental organizations, and the community at large, in efforts to enhance the country’s environmental landscape.
The National Tree Week initiative is expected to foster greater awareness of the importance of trees and the role they play in combating climate change.
