Egyptian President calls for de-escalation in Gaza, warns of Israel’s displacement plans

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi stressed today the necessity of concerted international efforts to prevent escalation and the need to discuss ways to negotiate and bring humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

During a meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Sisi said that the displacement of civilians from Gaza to Egypt’s Sinai is a dangerous matter, and may end the Palestinian cause.

He stressed his keenness to not allow this to happen, calling on everyone to take action and contain the developments taking place in the region, which may be uncontrollable.

Sisi pointed out that there are more than 4,000 victims in the Gaza Strip, including 1,500 children, calling for all efforts to prevent more victims.

The Egyptian President stressed the need for coordination and cooperation to prevent a regional war, underscoring the necessity of reviving the peace process and giving hope to the Palestinians to establish their state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
