RAMALLAH: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned in the strongest terms the ‘heinous crime committed by Israeli occupation forces at a military checkpoint near the entrance to the town of Al-Eizariya, east of occupied Jerusalem, which led to the killing of a 14-year-old child Wadih Owaisat.
The Ministry considered this crime as another face of genocide against the Palestinian people.
The Ministry said that the killing of the child Owaisat ‘brings to mind similar field executions against Palestinian citizens who were killed in full view of the international community, most notably the case of the execution of Abdel Fattah al-Sharif in Hebron, and others.’
The Ministry said, ‘The continuation of the series of field executions reflects a racist and fascist colonial mentality that denies the Palestinian his life and deprives him of it completely,” stressing that ‘it also reflects the facilities provided by the political and military level in the occupying state to the army and colonizers to
shoot the Palestinian with the aim of killing them.’
The Ministry added that the genocide committed by the occupation forces in the Gaza Strip is also being committed in the occupied West Bank.
The Ministry held the Israeli government fully and directly responsible for the crimes of genocide and field executions, and considered that Israel’s continued impunity encourages it to commit more of these crimes, which highlights the necessity to activate the international protection system for the Palestinian people as a prelude to ending the occupation.
