Four Killed as Heavy Rainfall Pounds Southern Morocco

Tata – Torrential rains hammered parts of Morocco’s southern city of Tata, killing at least four people and leaving 14 missing, according to a preliminary report by local authorities.

The floods caused by the rising waters of several rivers swept away eight houses in the village of Aoukerda, in the Tamanarte municipality, the same source said.

All the services concerned were mobilized, while the necessary human and logistical resources were deployed to intervene immediately following this incident, provide assistance to the population, open up the affected areas and restore the connection networks, it added.
