Israeli airstrikes on central Gaza Strip kills number of Palestinians

Israeli occupation forces Friday evening carried airstrikes on the central war-torn Gaza Strip, killing a number of Palestinian civilians, according to medical sources.

They said that paramedics evacuated a number of fatalities and casualties to al-Awda Hospital following Israeli bombardment that targeted a house of the Shehadeh family to the west of the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Strip.

They added that the body of a fatality arrived at the Arab al-Ahli Hospital in the city of Gaza following an Israeli bombing that targeted a group of Palestinians in the vicinity of al-Mujama’ al-Islami Mosque in Sabra neighbourhood, south of Gaza.

This brings the tally of Palestinian deaths in the Strip since the predawn hours of today to 33.

Israel has proceeded with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered Israel in a legally binding decision to halt its military offensive in Rafah, which may violate its obligations under t
he Genocide Convention.

Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 40,878 Palestinians and injuring over 94,454 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
