Israeli occupation forces detain 20 Palestinians in West Bank

RAMALLAH: Israeli occupation forces conducted a series of arrests over the last few hours across the occupied West Bank, apprehending at least 20 Palestinians, prisoner advocacy groups said. The detainees include children and former prisoners.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs Authority said in a joint press statement that the arrests primarily targeted Hebron, south of the West Bank, where 14 individuals were detained.

Additional arrests were reported in Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem. The arrests were accompanied by widespread harassment, brutal beatings, threats against the detainees and their families, as well as extensive destruction and sabotage of citizens’ homes, according to the statement.

The two organizations pointed out that the total number of Palestinians arrested by Israeli occupation authorities since October 7th has risen to approximately 7,325. This figure encompasses those apprehended from their homes, at military checkpoints, individuals
who surrendered under pressure, and those taken as hostages.
