Rabat: On High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the South Zone, received on Thursday in Marrakech Major General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the United Arab Emirates’ Armed Forces, on the sidelines of his participation in the Marrakech Air Show 2024.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, during the meeting, the two officials welcomed the level of this cooperation, reiterating their willingness to further bolster it, in line with the supreme will of the two brotherly countries’ leaders, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco, according to a statement from the FAR General Staff.

Discussions between the two officials focused on the deep-rooted historic ties between the two brotherly countries, and on bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of training, exchange of visits and expertise, as well as the defense industry.

Cooperation between the FAR and the UAE Armed Forces dates back to 1980, when the first military agreement was signed, subsequently strengthened by the framework agreement signed in May 2006.
