UNRWA calls Israel’s stopping of UN polio vaccine convoy in Gaza ‘latest violation against UN staff’

RAMALLAH: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that the Israeli army's stopping of a UN convoy on its way to carry out a polio vaccination campaign in northern Gaza is the latest violation against UN staff, despite prior notification and coordination. The agency explained in a statement issued on Tuesday that the Israeli army stopped the UN convoy heading to northern Gaza yesterday to carry out the vaccination campaign, threatening with weapons and detaining its staff, and its bulldozers caused damage to its vehicles.
