Winners of the 12th National Robotics Competition honoured

The 12th edition of the Bahrain National Robotics Competition concluded at Al Areen Palace and Spa.

The contest was held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, SCYS First Deputy Chairman, GSA Chairman and BOC Chairman.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Britus Education, the national organizer of the World Robotics Olympiad

Education Minister Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma attended the event and extended thanks and gratitude to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad for his patronage.

He noted the increasing number of participants which reflects its importance in motivating students to showcase their creative ideas in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence.

He pointed out that 294 students from public and private schools competed this year, up from 222 in the 11th edition, while participating teams soared to 89 up from 74.

Fatima Ahmed Kamal, CEO of Britus Education expressed thanks to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad for his patronage, commending the ministry’s cooperation and keen interest in supporting and developing robotic and artificial intelligence activities in educational institutions to enhance students’ abilities in different age groups.

The winning teams, sponsors and members of the jury were honored. An exhibition of participating student projects was held on the sidelines of the ceremony.

The qualified teams will be eligible to participate in the World Robot Olympiad in the Republic of Panama from 7-9 November 2023.
