Rabat: In a bid to bolster economic and trade relations between Morocco and France, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, held a meeting, on Thursday in Rabat, with the French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, Nicolas Forissier. During this meeting, the two parties underlined that the French delegation’s visit falls within the framework of bolstering and strengthening win-win economic partnerships, mainly by bringing Moroccan and French businesses closer.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Forissier said that bilateral relations are experiencing an exceptional dynamic, and are continuously progressing since the visit of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, to Morocco. The French minister noted that the Kingdom, thanks to its development strategies, is a growing hub of attractivity for international investors.
In this regard, he recalled that France is the leading foreign investor in Morocco, highlighting the involvement of major groups in the automotive industry, such as Renault and Stellantis. Furthermore, Forissier cited the example of the Transdev group, which is involved in managing the Rabat tramway in partnership with Moroccan authorities.
For his part, Mezzour stated that this meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the shared desire to further strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries and to anchor them in a dynamic medium- and long-term strategic partnership.
This visit by Forissier, marked by the participation of a delegation of around thirty French companies from strategic sectors, is part of an initiative aimed at enhancing the Kingdom’s attractiveness and promoting structuring cooperation projects between Moroccan and French economic operators, he continued.
Similarly, Mezzour affirmed that France’s support constitutes an important lever to accompany Morocco’s ambition to position itself as an attractive hub for businesses and investors. Finally, both parties reiterated their shared desire to further consolidate bilateral relations and set them on a trajectory of strengthened, sustainable, and mutually beneficial cooperation.
