Rabat: Locally strong thundery showers with hail, snowfall, and strong wind gusts with local dust storms are expected on Saturday and Sunday in several provinces of the Kingdom, the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) said on Wednesday.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, locally strong thundery showers with hail, ranging from 30 to 40 mm, are anticipated from Saturday at 10:15 a.m. to Sunday at 10:00 a.m. The affected provinces include Ouezzane, Chefchaouen, Jerada, Figuig, Guercif, Taourirt, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Boulemane, Fez, and Taza, as noted in an orange-level alert bulletin by the DGM.

Snowfall, measuring between 10 to 20 cm above 1,800 meters, is expected to occur on Saturday and Sunday in the provinces of Midelt, Khenifra, Ifrane, Beni Mellal, Azilal, Al Haouz, and Tinghir.

Additionally, strong wind gusts with local dust storms, reaching speeds of 75 to 90 km/h, are forecasted for Sunday from midnight to 9:00 p.m. in the provinces of Figuig, Jerada, Taourirt, Guercif, Taza, and Boulemane.
