Salé: The sixth leg of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola stopped in Morocco on Wednesday. This tour offers thousands of fans worldwide the opportunity to see the original World Cup trophy up close, ahead of the 2026 World Cup, scheduled in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the tour kicked off on January 3, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will visit 30 FIFA member associations, with 75 stops over more than 150 days. This provides fans around the world a unique chance to admire the most coveted trophy in world football.
At a conference held in Salé to present the Moroccan leg of the tour, General Manager of The Coca-Cola Company for Morocco and Mauritania Charbel El Beirouthy expressed his honor to be in Morocco, particularly at the Mohammed VI Football Complex. He noted it as “a concrete embodiment of the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, placing world-class training and infrastructure at the heart of promoting Moroccan and African football.” H
e emphasized that the 2026 World Cup will occur in a context marked by Moroccan football achievements.
“In 2022, Morocco became the first Arab and African team to reach the semi-finals. In 2026, the Atlas Lions are among the top eight teams in the world, and in 2030, the World Cup will be held in the Kingdom,” he stated.
Marcel Desailly, 1998 World Cup champion with France, remarked that the World Cup Trophy tour is a symbolic journey connecting fans to the magic of the sport. “We are in Morocco, a country of football, to celebrate the passion, pride, and unity that make the beautiful game the most popular sport in the world,” he said.
Desailly also highlighted Morocco’s world-class infrastructure, calling the organization of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations “a great success.”
The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola includes the three host countries of the 2026 World Cup (USA, Canada, and Mexico), as well as future host countries of the 2030 and 2034 FIFA World Cups and the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup:
