HRH Prince Moulay Rachid Attends Funeral of Late Abdelhak Lamrini


Rabat: His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid attended, Tuesday at the Achouhada cemetery in Rabat, the funeral of late Abdelhak Lamrini, historiographer of the Kingdom and spokesman for the Royal Palace. After the Al Asr and funeral prayers at the Achouhada Mosque, the funeral procession headed to the Achouhada cemetery, where the deceased was laid to rest.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the funeral was attended by members of the deceased’s family and close friends, advisors to HM the King and several civilian and military personalities. Quranic verses were recited and prayers offered for the repose of the departed’s soul, imploring the Most High to welcome him into His vast paradise and grant him mercy and blessing.



Prayers were also raised for the long life of HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, to surround the Sovereign with His divine protection and to perpetuate on Him blessings in the persons of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and all members of the Illustrious Royal Family.



His Majesty King Mohammed VI has sent a message of condolence to members of the family of late Abdelhak Lamrini, in which the Sovereign expresses His deep condolences and sincere feelings of compassion to the deceased’s family, and through them, to his relatives, friends, admirers and the academic and cultural realm, following the loss of a pillar, an intellectual and cultural figure and one of the country’s faithful servants.



In the message, HM the King also stated that the late author had enriched the national library with several relevant and singular works and publications, which will forever remain a living testimony to his intellectual eminence, his passion for knowledge, his self-sacrifice in the service of his homeland, as well as his sincere and unwavering commitment to the constants and sanctities of the nation and to the Glorious Alaouite Throne.



The late Abdelhak Lamrini passed away on Monday in Rabat aged 91.
