2nd annual Prophet’s birthday festival in al-Tahrir district highlights cultural, educational activities

The second annual popular festival celebrating the Prophet's birthday in Al-Tahrir district showcased a variety of cultural and educational activities over two days. Organized with the support of the Charitable Society for Teaching the Holy Quran and its Sciences, the festival runs from September 1 to 10 in al-Tahrir Square. The festival featured numerous educational segments and competitions designed to deepen participants' understanding of the Prophet Muhammad's life and morals. Events aimed to reinforce love for the Prophet and emphasize support for the Palestinian people amidst ongoing conflicts. Attendees were treated to a series of performances and presentations, including a poignant poem by poet Abu Rawasi Arhab, celebrating the Yemeni people's devotion to the Prophet's birthday. Al-Safaa band performed colorful chants reflecting on the Prophet's life and teachings, while the "Yemeni" band presented an operetta titled "The Birth," featuring dances and chants in honor of the Prophet. A theatrical production, "Trend," written and directed by Ibrahim al-Ashmouri, explored the challenges faced by youth and the need for societal improvement guided by Quranic principles. The festival also included various competitions for children and adults centered on the Prophet's biography, with cash and in-kind prizes awarded to winners. Additionally, gifts were distributed to attendees and talented children, and food baskets were given to needy families in the district.
