5.2-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Ouezzane Province, No Damage Reported


Ouezzane: A 5.2-magnitude quake on the Richter scale struck the province of Ouezzane in Morocco on Monday evening, the National Institute for Geophysics (ING) said.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the earthquake’s epicenter, which occurred at a depth of 20 kilometers, was located at 34.954° North latitude and 5.635° West longitude. The tremor originated in the municipality of Brikcha, in the province of Ouezzane, and occurred at 11:48:43 p.m. (GMT+1).

Local authorities contacted by MAP reported that no damage has been observed in the affected area.
