UNGA: FM Takes Part in Ministerial Meeting of AU Peace, Security Council

United Nations (New York) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, took part Friday in New York, the ministerial meeting of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU).
Bourita was accompanied at this meeting by the Ambassador Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation, Mohamed Methqal.
Morocco will assume the presidency of the PSC during the month of October. The Kingdom was elected member of the AU’s PSC for a second term of three years 2022-2025 after that of 2018-2020.
This election reflects the key and historic role of Morocco in the maintenance of peace and security in Africa and illustrates the confidence that the Kingdom enjoys within the pan-African organization.
The ministerial meeting of the PSC took place on the sidelines of the 77th United Nations General Assembly.
