Health minister appeals to international community to pressure for an end to Israeli aggression to facilitate vaccination campaign in Gaza

RAMALLAH: Minister of Health, Majid Abu Ramadan, renewed his appeal to the international community and international organizations to increase pressure on the occupation authorities to stop the aggression and facilitate the mission of the health cadres and allow them to carry out the large-scale vaccination campaign against Polio in the Gaza Strip.

The minister of health announced the arrival of an additional 350,000 doses of polio vaccines to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday evening. All vaccines are now being held in refrigerated storage in warehouses.

This is the second batch of vaccines that has arrived in the Gaza Strip. This brings the number of doses that has arrived in the Gaza Strip to about 1.6 million doses, which is enough to vaccinate all children aged between one day and 10 years with two doses each.

The Ministry’s teams, in collaboration with the World Health Organization, UNRWA and UNICEF started the vaccination campaign last Sunday in Deir al-Balah province. The campaign will also cover Khan Yuni
s and neighboring areas, Gaza governorate and the northern provinces.
