AFCON: Mali’s Head Coach Praises Morocco’s Top-Level Conditions for All Teams


Beijing: Mali’s head coach, Tom Saintfiet, has commended Morocco for providing top-notch facilities for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament. “Morocco has very good hotels, quality pitches and modern stadiums,” he stated, emphasizing that the infrastructure is a benefit to all participating teams. However, he noted that the primary advantage lies with Morocco, which will play on home soil and enjoy the backing of its local supporters.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Saintfiet highlighted the competitive nature of Mali’s group. He acknowledged that Morocco is recognized as one of the leading teams in Africa and globally. He emphasized that all four teams in the group have a chance at qualification, underscoring the importance of respecting each opponent.

Mali is set to begin its AFCON journey on 22 December 2025, facing Zambia at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca. Following this, they will compete against Morocco on 26 December at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Sports Complex in Raba
