Cape town: The nominees for the African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 have been announced, recognizing the companies, projects, and individuals driving innovation, investment, and growth across Africa’s energy sector. Featuring 12 categories spanning the full energy value chain, the awards celebrate the achievements shaping the continent’s energy future.
According to African Press Organization, winners will be announced during the AEW 2026 Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, taking place on Tuesday, October 13, in Cape Town. The ceremony will bring together ministers, industry leaders, investors, and technology providers to recognize excellence in upstream, downstream, gas, power, local content, technology, and corporate leadership.
In the category of African Service Provider of the Year, GeoEnergy Group has been nominated for its digital transformation initiatives through the Egypt Upstream Gateway, while One Titanium, KAESO, SONILS, and NIPEX have been recognized for their contributions to specialized services, ind
igenous engineering, logistics, and procurement, respectively.
The International Service Provider of the Year nominees include NOV, Geoex MCG, Africa Global Logistics, Technip Energies, SBM Offshore, and SLB, all recognized for their support of major energy developments through engineering, equipment, and logistics solutions.
For Local Content Champion (African Companies), Seplat Energy, Copia Group of Companies, Renaissance Africa Energy, and Cabship are nominated for their efforts in strengthening local participation and workforce development. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies Uganda, NOV, Woodside Energy, and Africa Global Logistics have been shortlisted in the Local Content Champion (International Companies) category.
In the EandP Leader of the Year category, Shell, Renaissance Africa Energy and NNPCL, Murphy Oil, Eni, and OMV and Libya’s National Oil Corporation are acknowledged for their exploration leadership and significant discoveries across Africa.
The AEW 2026 Awards also highlight achievements in refin
ing and infrastructure projects, with nominees including Dangote Refinery, Cabinda Oil Refinery, East African Crude Oil Pipeline, and African Atlantic Gas Pipeline.
In the Deal of the Year category, Trafigura, Levene Energies, Heirs Energies, and UTM FLNG are recognized for their strategic agreements and acquisitions that boost indigenous ownership and project development.
For CSR Project of the Year, Mozambique LNG, South African National Petroleum Company, Kosmos Energy Ghana, Sonangol, Eni, and Oando Foundation are commended for their impactful community and educational initiatives.
In the Gas Monetization Award category, Levene Energies, NOV APL Norway, Congo LNG, and Amufert are noted for advancing gas commercialization and infrastructure development.
The Technology Innovator nominees include TotalEnergies, SOLA Group, Shearwater, and TGS and Starlink for their innovative projects in digital platforms, solar and battery storage, ocean-bottom node technology, and seismic data transfer.
Finally, the P
ower Africa Developer category features TotalEnergies, Siemens Energy, Globeleq, and Infinity Power for their roles in expanding renewable energy and power infrastructure across the continent.
