After meeting the Swiss Representative, PM Shtayyeh urges securing safe passage for wounded, aid in Gaza

Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh today called on Switzerland, as party and sponsor of the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols, to ensure safe passage for the wounded and aid, and to put pressure on Israel to stop its aggression against the people in the Gaza Strip as well as the occupation army and settlers' violation in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. This came during his meeting in his office in Ramallah with the Representative of Switzerland to the State of Palestine, Anne-Lise Henin. The Prime Minister said the continuation of the blockade, and not allowing electricity, water, fuel and medical supplies into Gaza is a serious violation of international humanitarian law. He pointed out that there are more than 140 medical, food and relief aid trucks still waiting on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing due to Israel not allowing them to enter the Gaza Strip, and not allowing the wounded to be evacuated for treatment outside the Strip.
