Manama: At Gateway Gulf 2024, an investment forum organized by the Bahrain Economic Development Board, Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) and Daiki Aluminium Industry Company have reaffirmed their strategic partnership by unveiling plans for a joint venture named ‘Alba-Daiki Sustainable Solutions (ADSS)’. This venture aims to establish a state-of-the-art, sustainable aluminium dross processing facility in Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the announcement highlights Bahrain’s dedication to economic diversification and environmental sustainability. Alba will hold a 70% stake in the venture, with Daiki Aluminium owning the remaining 30%. The partners plan to begin operations by September 2026, marking a significant step towards environmental stewardship and technological advancement in the region.
The announcement was graced by the presence of key figures including Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chairman of Alba’s Board; Ali Al Baqali, Alba’s CEO; and Yamamoto Takaaki, Chairman and Representative Director of Daiki Alumini
um Industry Company.
Noor bint Ali Al Khulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of Bahrain EDB, emphasized the strategic alliance’s significance, noting how Bahrain’s advanced infrastructure and innovation-friendly policies are attracting transformative projects. She highlighted that this collaboration is a testament to Bahrain’s commitment to sustainable economic diversification.
Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chairman of Alba, remarked that the partnership with Daiki Aluminium marks a pivotal moment in both Alba’s history and Bahrain’s industrial landscape. The venture aims to set new standards for sustainable aluminium production in the Gulf, reinforcing Bahrain’s position as a leader in economic diversification.
Yamamoto Takaaki, Chairman of Daiki Aluminium, stated that the collaboration is a significant milestone in sustainable industrial development, aligning with the vision presented at Gateway Gulf 2024. He emphasized the potential for targeted investments to drive both economic growth a
nd environmental progress, leveraging Daiki’s expertise in aluminium recycling alongside Alba’s world-class operations.
