Bahrain a global model for charity work: Speaker

Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, has affirmed that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Bahrain has become an international model for charity work according to a developmental methodology and a civilised vision for the sake of humanity.

He praised Bahrain's pioneering achievements in promoting the noble human values of giving, spreading the culture of social solidarity and preserving human rights, as well as in extending, assistance and relief to all brotherly and friendly countries and peoples, in light of the comprehensive development march, and the charitable and humanitarian approach, spearheaded by the leadership of HM King Hamad.

The speaker also praised the support and directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to carry on efforts to provide financial support programmes for low-income citizens.

Al Musallam praised the role of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) and the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) in providing grants and humanitarian relief aid, through distinguished development projects and initiatives, citing the RHF's launch of charitable campaigns and various activities, and establishing various creative and innovative programmes that contribute to achieving sustainable development, in Bahrain and abroad.

He expressed appreciation and thanks to all the associations, institutions, charitable funds, and endowment foundations in Bahrain for their contributions to promoting social solidarity, the culture of social responsibility, the values of volunteering and human giving, which reflects the Bahraini people's deep-rooted values and keenness to support those in need.

Al Musallam affirmed parliamentary support for all charitable associations and activities.
