Al hoceima: A true haven of peace, the park attracts nature lovers with its diverse vegetation, walking trails and breathtaking panoramic views of the pearl of the Mediterranean and its surrounding beaches. Built as part of the spatial development program ‘Al-Hoceima, Manarat Al Moutawassit’ (Al Hoceima, Lighthouse of the Mediterranean), this 45-hectare site is an urban green lung for residents and visitors.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the park has a significant forest richness, children’s play areas, rest areas, and landscaped paths, turning it into a favored place to relax, especially during summer. Equipped with environmental preservation equipment, ecological signage, and other facilities, the park is considered an ideal natural space for relaxation with pleasant family moments, where nature’s sounds resonate.

In a statement to MAP, the provincial director of the National Agency for Water and Forests (ANEF) in Al Hoceïma, Ali El Ouali El Alami, stressed that Boujibar Park contributes to str
engthening the city’s touristic attractiveness thanks to its strategic location overlooking the Mediterranean and its rich biodiversity. He stated that the site’s forest is mainly composed of drought-resistant species such as Aleppo pines, junipers, oleanders, rosemary, and thyme, giving it notable ecological value. Additionally, the park shelters several sedentary and migratory bird species, along with small mammals, reptiles, and insects that contribute to environmental equilibrium.

Beyond its recreational dimension, the park plays an essential role in protecting soil from erosion, purifying the air, mitigating the urban climate, preserving biodiversity, and raising visitors’ awareness about the importance of urban forests. Interviewed by MAP, many visitors from different cities of the Kingdom expressed their admiration for the tranquility and beauty of the place, enhanced by breathtaking views of the city and the sea, highlighting that this natural setting offers them a real moment of serenity far from th
e urban tumult.
