Rabat: Both goals for the AS FAR women’s team came from penalties, converted by Hanane Ait El Haj in the 13th minute and Zineb Redouani in the 85th minute, while ASEC Mimosas managed to reduce the deficit with a goal from Ami Diallo in the 55th minute.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this victory marks the Moroccan team’s second continental title, having previously won the African Champions League in 2022 by defeating South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns. AS FAR had narrowly missed the championship in the 2024 edition, losing the final by a single goal to TP Mazembe in a match held at El Abdi Stadium in El Jadida.
In the third-place match, the Congolese team TP Mazembe secured the bronze medal by defeating the Egyptian side Masar 3-1 on Friday evening.
