Morocco: The Casablanca Stock Exchange ended Monday’s trading session in negative territory, with its main index, the MASI, falling by 0.46% to 18,705.43 points.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the MASI 20, which includes the 20 most liquid stocks, declined by 0.92% to 1,350.12 points. Meanwhile, the MASI ESG, which measures companies with the highest ESG ratings according to Moody’s ESG Solutions, dropped 0.44% to 1,386.88 points.
This downturn reflects a broader sentiment of caution among investors, influenced by both local and international economic factors. The performance of these indices is closely watched by market analysts as it provides insights into the economic health and investment climate in Morocco.
The decline in the MASI 20 indicates that even the most actively traded stocks were not immune to the day’s negative trend, while the drop in MASI ESG highlights challenges faced by companies striving to meet environmental, social, and governance benchmarks.
