Rabat: Several provinces across Morocco are bracing for a cold snap from Friday through Sunday, according to the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM). With plummeting temperatures between -08 and -03 °C, this cold snap is expected to hit the provinces of Taza, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Khenifra, Midelt, Boulemane, Sefrou, and Guercif, said the weather authority in an orange-level alert.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this weather change will impact several regions, and residents are being urged to prepare for the colder temperatures. The DGM’s orange-level alert indicates a significant drop in temperature, which is likely to affect daily life and activities in the affected areas.
The authorities have advised local populations to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the severe cold, particularly in rural and mountainous regions where temperatures are expected to be the lowest. The cold snap is part of a broader pattern of weather changes affecting the region during this time of year.
