Rabat: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit reaffirmed Thursday in Rabat his country’s support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and its sovereignty over its Sahara, and reiterated its endorsement of the Moroccan Autonomy Plan as the only credible, serious and realistic solution to definitely resolve the Moroccan Sahara regional dispute. This stance was expressed by Skerrit in a statement to the press following his talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Prime Minister emphasized the growing international momentum and consensus in favor of the Moroccan Autonomy Plan, crediting the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This plan is viewed as a significant stride towards resolving the regional dispute concerning the Moroccan Sahara.
During the meeting, discussions between Bourita and Skerrit focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Morocco and the Commonweal
th of Dominica, along with addressing issues of mutual interest. Skerrit praised the solidification of ties between the two nations and lauded King Mohammed VI’s vision for promoting active South-South cooperation.
The talks culminated in the signing of a visa waiver agreement for official passports, marking a further step in enhancing the diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
