Comorian Newspaper Applauds Mohammed VI Football Academy’s Unique Model

Rabat: Inaugurated in 2009 under the initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Academy is behind the success of Moroccan football, notes the publication in an article on its website. It recalls that this institution trained the majority of the players in this golden generation that won the U20 World Cup.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, “Discipline, technical rigor, and game intelligence are the trademarks of this center, which has become a continental benchmark,” adds the author of the article, pointing out that this triumph of the Atlas Cubs is part of the ongoing string of Moroccan football successes: the historic semi-final at the 2022 World Cup, victory at the U23 AFCON, and strong performances by the U17 and women’s national teams.

All these achievements share a common root, notes the newspaper, mentioning investment in training and infrastructure. “This world title is more than a trophy, it is the confirmation of a trajectory.”

The publication stresses that Morocco is now reaping the r
ewards of a patient and structured strategy that makes youth its greatest asset, adding that ‘from the pitches of Salé to the stadiums of Chile, the Atlas Cubs have proven that Morocco’s global football dream runs through the Mohammed VI Academy.’

It also points out that ‘Moroccans will likely have many more opportunities to celebrate their footballers,’ as the senior national team, which will play in the Africa Cup of Nations at home, will be among the tournament favorites, recalling that in 2030, the country will be one of the co-hosts of the World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
