Comoros Ambassador Praises Morocco’s Sovereignty Efforts and Autonomy Plan


Laayoune: The Comoros Ambassador has praised the increasing support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara and its autonomy plan. The diplomat underscored the significance of Morocco’s foreign policy under the guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He commended the efforts made by the Kingdom to resolve the artificial dispute surrounding the Moroccan Sahara.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, during a statement on the sidelines of the opening of the 6th edition of the International Festival of African Heritage, the ambassador, Elias, recalled that the Union of the Comoros was among the first countries to establish a Consulate General in Laayoune in December 2019. He lauded the excellent relations between Morocco and the Comoros, highlighting the Kingdom’s pivotal role in promoting unity among African nations.



The ambassador noted that Morocco’s organization of the International Festival of African Heritage is a testament to these efforts, as well as the Kingdom’s dedication to enhancing cooperation and solidarity among African peoples. The two-day festival, themed “African Brothers: Different Heritages,” includes a variety of artistic performances, intellectual conferences, and cultural activities. Delegations from several African countries, such as Morocco, Togo, Guinea, Niger, Mali, and the Comoros, are participating.
