Pretoria: Morocco’s two victories were secured by Yassine Dlimi, who defeated Alec Beckley 6-7, 7-6, 6-2. Teammate Taha Baadi then overpowered Marc Van Der Merwe 3-6, 6-1, 6-1, to seal a dream start for the Moroccan squad to this tie, held on September 13-14 in Pretoria.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the doubles match will pit Sunday Alec Beckley and Thando Longwe-Smit against the Moroccan pair of Yassine Dlimi and Younes Lalami Laaroussi, followed by the third singles between South Africa’s No. 1, Alec Beckley, and Taha Baadi. Marc Van Der Merwe will take on Yassine Dlimi for the fourth singles.

Last February in Harare, the Moroccan tennis team secured a spot at World Group II with a convincing 4-0 victory over Zimbabwe.
