Declaration of Malabo: Autonomy Initiative is the Only Solution for the Regional Conflict on Moroccan Sahara


Malabo: The joint declaration signed by the Speaker of the House, Mohamed Ould Errachid, and the President of the CEMAC Parliament, Evariste Ngamana, reaffirmed support for the just causes of the Kingdom of Morocco and the member countries of the CEMAC Parliament, foremost among them national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the declaration the same source added, reflects the depth of the fraternal, friendly and united ties between Morocco and the member countries of the Community, and reiterates the shared determination to advance these relations at the parliamentary level through this exceptional regional parliamentary platform.

It also forms part of the joint dynamic launched by both parties in Rabat through the signing of a cooperation memorandum that laid out a key roadmap for joint action, strengthened by the establishment of an Economic Parliamentary Forum serving as a regular institutional framework for cooperation, bringing together political leaders,
legislators and economic actors from Morocco and CEMAC member states.

The Declaration recalled that this forum represents an innovative mechanism for strengthening African integration and bolstering institutional support for governmental efforts in the areas of development, regional integration and the promotion of a shared continental economy.

The Declaration also referred to the content of the ‘Laayoune Declaration,’ which concluded the proceedings of the first edition of the forum held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in Laayoune, the capital of Morocco’s southern provinces.
