Rabat: The Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) has firmly refuted misinformation spread by certain social media accounts about the “alleged death following a criminal assault involving a steward at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat during the final of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON-2025).”

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the National Security Services have confirmed that “no fatalities were recorded among private security guards or ball boys, and no procedures were carried out to identify any deceased persons in connection with events related to hooliganism.” This confirmation follows thorough checks with various health establishments.

The National Security Services, while denying these false reports, have also informed that the competent judicial authorities have been notified of the misleading publications. Instructions have been requested concerning the initiation of judicial investigations to identify those responsible for the dissemination of these rumors. The a
