European Alliance conference in support of Palestinian detainees calls for concerted efforts to expose Israel`

The Eighth Conference of the European Alliance in Support of Palestinian Detainees stressed in its final statement the necessity of concerting and mobilizing all Palestinian, Arab and international efforts in order to expose and condemn Israeli practices and violations against the Palestinian prisoners and detainees, especially women, children and administrative detainees, and to work to intensify efforts at the international level to stop the suffering of prisoners and release them from occupation prisons in coordination and cooperation with the groups concerned with prisoners' affairs in the country, and all specialized international human rights bodies.

The final statement called for internationalizing the issue of prisoners and accelerating the referral of crimes committed against them to the International Criminal Court and international criminal justice so that Israel does not remain an occupying power above international law and can escape punishment, and to increase the level of cooperation with international human rights organizations to achieve these goals, in addition to activating the Alliance's legal, medical, media, and political committees, follow up on the efforts previously undertaken by the European Alliance at the International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding the occupation government's violations of international laws, and benefiting from the electronic platform established by the International Criminal Court to receive complaints from victims of the occupation, especially from prisoners and their families, calling on the ICC to begin investigating crimes committed against prisoners and detainees in the occupation prisons.

The conference decided, in coordination with the homeland institutions, to address unions, European medical institutions, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and to the World Health Organization to follow up on the issue of sick prisoners, and to form international medical delegations to review their health conditions inside the occupation prisons, in addition to highlighting their suffering and to exert pressure to provide them with appropriate medical treatment to save them from the danger of death that threatens their lives and to organize many national, Arab and international campaigns to reach these goals.

The final statement condemned the Israeli occupation's policy of arresting Palestinian children and violating their rights guaranteed to them by all international laws and conventions related to children's rights, especially the child prisoner Ahmad Manasra, who is subjected to solitary confinement, medical neglect and torture, and to work to raise the pace of coordination between international human rights institutions to escalate solidarity campaign with them until they gain their freedom.
