FM commends comperehensive approach of royal address

Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, commended the comprehensive approach presented by the royal address at the opening of the second session of the sixth legislative term.

The minister said the royal address underscored the status of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a leading model in reform, modernisation, national unity, coexistence and the diplomacy of tolerance and peace.

The address of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa represented a road map for the sustainability of national and developmental achievements within the framework of the state of law, justice, institutions and the respect of human rights in light of a fair and independent judiciary; and the ongoing cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the minister said.

The minister pointed out the reference made in the royal address on the awareness of the civil society in Bahrain and its adherence to the values of coexistence and upholding the security, stability and unity of the country.

He also commended the royal order on putting in place an action plan to preserve the historical and cultural identity of the buildings and cities of Bahrain and consolidate its status as a platform for cultural and intellectual rapprochement among religions and cultures.

Dr. Al Zayani also underlined the diplomatic approach highlighted by the royal address of Bahrain's commitment to its alliances, integration and cooperation within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab League, which serves the people of the region and supports joint rights and causes; on top of which comes the resolution of the Palestinian issue, supporting de-escalation and comprehensive peace efforts, and ensuring the right of the Palestinian people in establishing their independent State with East Jerusalem as its capital- based on the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative.
