Barcelona: Organized under the theme “Moroccans of the World: Strategic Sectors for Investing in Morocco,” this meeting aims to inform Moroccan expatriates about investment opportunities, raise awareness of the support mechanisms available, and encourage the mobilization of Moroccan expertise established in Catalonia and across Spain.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Ali Mehrez, Senior Manager in charge of strategic partnerships at the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), emphasized that investment opportunities in Morocco cover a wide range of sectors, from tourism to services and industry.
For his part, Mohamed Chaib, president of the Ibn Battouta Foundation, welcomed the stopover, recalling that the challenge is not only to invite Moroccans living abroad to invest, but also to clearly explain to them “in which sectors to invest, how to proceed, and what support tools are available.”
The Consul General of Morocco in Barcelona, Nezha Attahar, highlighted the guidelines expres
sed by HM King Mohammed VI in His Speeches on August 20, 2022, and November 6, 2024, which call for fully valuing the contribution of Moroccans living abroad to national development, beyond financial transfers.
For his part, TMM Foundation President Amine Saad mentioned that the Barcelona stage follows several stops in Amsterdam, London, Madrid, Brussels, and Paris, and announced the conclusion of a partnership agreement with the Ibn Battouta Foundation to roll out various cultural and economic projects for 2026 and 2027.
This meeting was followed by talks with participants, followed by a networking session designed to facilitate contacts between project leaders and support institutions.
