Foreign Ministry welcomes UNESCO adoption of draft resolution on Palestine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed tonight the adoption of a draft resolution submitted by the Arab Group under the title: 'Impact and consequences of the current situation in the Gaza Strip/Palestine in all aspects of UNESCO's mandate' at UNESCO's 42nd session of the General Conference. The Ministry stressed the importance of the resolution, which called for an immediate halt to the targeting of civilians, especially children, women, youth, and educational workers, as well as the attacks on schools, colleges, and universities, and for the condemnation of the continued killing of journalists and the destruction of media centers, heritage sites, museums, and cultural centers, in clear violation of all human and international conventions, and principles of UNESCO. The Ministry called upon Member States to act urgently to stop the Israeli aggression, allow the entry of aid into the strip, prevent forced displacement of Palestinians, and provide them with protection.
