French Culture Minister Praises Morocco’s Cultural Dynamism, Evolution of Museums


Rabat: French Minister of Culture Catherine P©gard praised Morocco’s cultural dynamism and the evolution of its museum sector during a visit to the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMVI) in Rabat on Thursday.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the French official, who was received by National Museum Foundation (FNM) President Mehdi Qotbi and MMVI Director Nadia Sabri, toured various ongoing exhibitions, highlighting their quality and the vitality of the Kingdom’s artistic landscape. P©gard also emphasized the strength of the French-Moroccan cultural partnership, marked by regular exchanges and mutual participation in major literary and artistic events, as well as a shared commitment to developing joint projects. She also noted that cultural cooperation between the two countries is now expanding into new areas such as gaming.



For his part, Qotbi noted that this visit illustrates the vitality of cultural cooperation between Morocco and France, recalling that this partnership, founded on a long-standing friendship, contributes to the global reach of the arts and culture. “This cooperation helps strengthen the exchange of expertise and build a lasting and mutually beneficial cultural bridge between the two countries,” he added.



On this occasion, the FNM President presented P©gard-who was accompanied by French ambassador to Rabat Christophe Lecourtier, and Director General of the French Institute of Morocco Agn¨s Humruzian-with a collection of publications documenting the main projects and exhibitions carried out in collaboration with France.
