Rabat: Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, has emerged as a key partner for France and a pivotal bridge between Europe and Africa thanks to a long-term strategic vision driving sustained development, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly Bruno Fuchs said.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, in an interview on the occasion of Throne Day, Fuchs praised the Kingdom’s transformation since the early 2000s, highlighting its modernization of infrastructure, industrial expansion, transport networks, education, and economic diversification. He said these reforms have produced tangible results, making Morocco “an extremely strong country” with a confident, forward-looking population.

The French deputy also commended Morocco’s growing presence across Africa through its banking, telecommunications, insurance, and industrial sectors, describing the Kingdom as a natural link between Europe and Africa with a unique geostrategic position.

He then welcomed the renewed momentum in Morocco-France relations, noting significant potential for deeper cooperation in areas including industry, health, education, infrastructure, environment, and sports, as well as industrial value chains.

Fuchs further emphasized the role played by parliamentary diplomacy in fostering France-Morocco rapprochement.

On the Moroccan Sahara issue, Fuchs said France’s support for Morocco’s Autonomy Plan marked a major turning point in bilateral relations, opening a new phase of cooperation. He also underlined Morocco’s role as a credible international partner committed to multilateralism, peace, cooperation, and development.
