Manama: The Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) has commended the efforts of the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in supporting the Palestinian cause. This acknowledgment came during the closing of the GCC’s 46th session held in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the final communiqu© from the session reaffirmed the importance of the Palestinian cause, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with Al-Quds East as its capital. This stance aligns with the Arab peace initiative and resolutions from international law.
The Supreme Council further expressed its support for the sovereignty of the Palestinian people over their occupied territories. It highlighted the necessity of enhancing cooperation with international and regional powers and urged the international community to intensify efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict.
