Ghasham Triumphs at HM King Mohammed VI’s Grand Prix for Arabian Thoroughbreds.


Casablanca: The horse ‘Ghasham’, owned by Atlas Stud, won on Sunday at the Casablanca-Anfa racecourse HM King Mohammed VI’s Grand Prix for Arabian thoroughbreds, as part of the 10th Morocco International Meeting for horse races.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, ‘Ghasham’, mounted by Amine Moughat, secured victory in the major event on the second day of the competition, organized by the Royal Society of Horse Encouragement (SOREC) for Arabian thoroughbreds. The event’s first day was devoted to English thoroughbreds.

The HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Grand Prix for Arabian thoroughbreds was claimed by the Fal Stud horse ‘Al Mambir Fal’, with Khalid Ibba as the jockey. Meanwhile, Mohamed Daissaoui’s horse ‘Buraak’, ridden by Mohcine Lafram, captured the HRH Crown Prince Moulay Rachid Grand Prix.

Additionally, the United Arab Emirates President’s Cup was won by ‘Alataat’, owned by Mustapha Ahmed Teeka and ridden by Khaled Miftah Alamari. The program also included the Turkish Jockey Club Award, whic
h was claimed by ‘Djayzam Maamora’, owned by Nour-Eddine Bajjou and mounted by Ayoub Rayi. The Royal Moroccan Association of Horse Breeders (ARMEC) award went to ‘Bazula Fal’, owned by Fal Stud and ridden by Reda Moussa.

At the conclusion of the competitions, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests Ahmed Bouari, along with the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, governor of the Casablanca prefecture Mohamed Mhidia, and governor of Casablanca-Anfa district prefecture Aziz Dadas, presented the winners with HM King Mohammed VI’s Grand Prix, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Grand Prix, and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid Grand Prix, respectively.

On Saturday, the HM King Mohammed VI Grand Prix for English thoroughbreds was awarded to the horse ‘Al Othmane’, owned by Mohammed Aziz Bennani and ridden by Aziz Jabafi.
