Rabat: The Government Council is scheduled to meet on Thursday to address significant legislative matters. At the commencement of the session, the Council will focus on evaluating the draft law concerning higher education and scientific research.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the session will proceed with the review of two draft decrees. The first decree involves amendments to the existing legislation on a parafiscal tax known as the “Solidarity Tax against Catastrophic Events,” intended to support the Solidarity Fund against Catastrophic Events. The second decree outlines the provisions for overtime allowances for teaching staff members.
The Council’s agenda also includes the examination of the headquarters agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the African Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI). This agreement, which pertains to the establishment of AFROSAI’s permanent headquarters in Morocco, was signed in Rabat on April 30, 2025. The Council will also eva
luate the draft law that seeks approval for this agreement.
Concluding the session, the Council will consider proposals for appointments to senior positions, as outlined in article 92 of the constitution. Following the Council’s discussions, the government plans to hold a special meeting to deliberate on certain draft laws.
