Government Council to Discuss Key Legislative Amendments and International Agreements

Rabat: The Government Council is scheduled to convene on Thursday to deliberate on a range of critical legislative amendments and international agreements. At the outset, the Council will focus on a bill that proposes amendments and supplements to the existing law governing credit institutions and similar bodies, alongside modifications to the law concerning the status of Bank Al-Maghrib.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Council’s agenda includes the evaluation of two draft decrees. The first decree aims to amend and supplement the existing decree on combating doping in sports, while the second decree will establish the compensation framework for members of the evaluation and selection committee and the organizing committee for the Collective Labor Agreements Award.

Further on the agenda is an agreement between the Moroccan Government and the Government of the Republic of Burundi. This agreement, concerning the avoidance of double taxation on income and measures against tax evasion and fraud, was concluded on May 12, 2025, in Rabat. The Council will also consider a draft decree approving this agreement.

The session will conclude with the review of proposals for senior positions, as mandated by Article 92 of the Constitution, as indicated in the press release.
