In response to an oral question in the House of Representatives on “health support for rural and mountain people”, asked by the Authenticity and Modernity (PAM) group, the Minister noted that the problem lies not in logistics and equipment but especially in human resources and their qualification.
He added that the government is working on the materialization of annual action plans including the program to reduce territorial and social disparities in rural areas (2017-2023) with a significant budget, as well as the national strategy of primary health care through a regional action plan.
Answering another question on ”the upward revision of the number of beds in hospital emergencies and the achievement of territorial equity”, Ait Taleb noted that 80% of cases admitted to hospital emergencies are not of a seriousness requiring such admission and should therefore be taken care of by primary health care centers, which, according to him, explains the situation of overflow and congestion in hospital emergencies.
