Rabat: A heat wave with thunderstorms, hail, and wind gusts are expected, from Thursday to Friday, in several Moroccan provinces, according to Morocco’s weather authority.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, a heat wave with temperatures ranging between 42 and 45 °C will affect the provinces of Oued Ed-Dahab, Es-Semara, Errachidia, Assa-Zag, Boujdour, Aousserd, Ouezzane, Larache, Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, Fez, Meknes, Fquih Ben Salah, Beni Mellal, Khemisset, Rehamna, Marrakech, Kalaat Sraghna, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Kenitra, Zagora, and Tata. The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange-level alert for these regions.
The same phenomenon, with temperatures ranging between 38 and 42 °C, is expected in the provinces of Youssoufia, Rabat, Salé, Khenifra, Taroudant, Khouribga, Settat, Chichaoua, and Sidi Bennour during the same period, the source continues.
In addition, thunderstorms accompanied by hail and wind gusts will affect the provinces of Oued Ed-Dahab and Aousserd from Thurs
day at 3 p.m. to Friday at 6 a.m. (20-40 mm), and the provinces of Kalaa Sraghna, Al Haouz, Azilal, Chichaoua, Rehamna, and Marrakech from Thursday at 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. (15-25 mm).
