High-Level Guatemalan Delegation in Dakhla to Explore Investment, Strengthen Economic Ties with Morocco

Dakhla: This visit is part of the Economic Promotion Week of the Republic of Guatemala in Morocco, which aims to showcase the economic potential of this Central American country across various sectors in Morocco and to foster the development of win-win business partnerships.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, during a visit to the Dakhla Atlantique port construction site, the Guatemalan Vice Minister expressed his ‘great admiration’ for the development achievements made in the region under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, while voicing his country’s desire to take advantage of the economic opportunities offered by the region.

He emphasized that Morocco represents, for Guatemala-seeking to diversify its markets and open to new partners-a strategic gateway to the African continent, noting that the Kingdom has transformed the region into a genuine space for growth and prosperity.

He cited in this regard major structural projects, such as the Dakhla Atlantique port, seawater desalination initiatives, sustainable agriculture development, and the promotion of renewable energy.

The Guatemalan official also highlighted the dynamism of bilateral relations, strengthened politically and diplomatically, recalling that Guatemala was the first Central American country to open a consulate in Dakhla.

He added that this momentum marks the beginning of a new phase of economic and trade cooperation, conducive to launching joint projects and reinforcing the partnership between the two countries.
