New york: The leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI is at the forefront of international efforts to combat hate speech and to promote tolerance, coexistence, and mutual respect, according to Miguel ngel Moratinos, the United Nations High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). He expressed these views on Thursday during a press briefing in New York, coinciding with the World Conference on Combating Hate Speech through the Promotion of Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue and Tolerance, an event co-organized by Morocco, the UN, and UNAOC.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Moratinos highlighted that “His Majesty the King has shown us the way” by addressing issues in a manner that fosters an international society built on tolerance and mutual respect. The leadership of King Mohammed VI has positioned Morocco as a model nation, spearheading initiatives that are now taking shape on the global stage. These efforts have garnered support from numerous UN member states and various civil society organizations.

Moratinos acknowledged the success of Morocco’s initiatives, which have often led to international declarations and practical action plans. He specifically mentioned the Kingdom’s contributions to drafting international declarations, citing the adoption of the Marrakesh Action Plan and the Rabat Action Plan as significant achievements.

In his remarks, Moratinos emphasized that “Morocco is leading the way” and that the vision of His Majesty the King provides a clear path towards achieving the desired goals of tolerance and mutual respect on an international scale.
