Rabat: Hot weather and strong wind gusts are expected on Sunday and Monday in several provinces of the Kingdom, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announced.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, hot weather, with temperatures ranging between 40 and 44°C, will affect the provinces of Fquih Ben Salah, Rehamna, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Ouezzane, Fez, Khemisset, Sidi Bennour, Youssoufia, Beni Mellal, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Tata, Taroudant, Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khouribga, Settat, Chichaoua, El Kelaa des Sraghna, and Marrakech. This update was highlighted in an orange-level alert bulletin issued by the DGM.
Temperatures ranging between 36 and 40°C are forecasted during the same period for the provinces of Meknes, Guelmim, Sidi Ifni, Essaouira, Mediouna, Nouaceur, Rabat, Salé, Skhirate-Temara, El Jadida, Safi, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Tiznit, Benslimane, Berrechid, Casablanca, Mohammedia, Khenifra, and Larache.
Additionally, a similar temperature rang
e of 38-41°C is predicted for the provinces of Tan-Tan, Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour, LaSyoune, and Tarfaya.
Furthermore, strong wind gusts reaching speeds of 75 to 85 km/h are expected on Sunday in the prefectures of Fahs-Anjra and Tangier-Assilah.
