Rabat: Hot weather, heavy thunderstorms with a chance of hail, and gusty winds are expected on Monday in several provinces of the Kingdom, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announces.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, high temperatures ranging from 40 to 44 °C are expected on Monday in the provinces of Taounate, Fez, Fquih Ben Salah, Beni Mellal, Youssoufia, Sidi Kacem, Kenitra, Moulay Yacoub, Sidi Bennour, Khemisset, Rehamna, Marrakesh, El Kelaa Sraghna, Chichaoua, Settat, Ouezzane, Taroudant, Khouribga, and Sidi Slimane, as specified in an orange-level alert by the DGM.
Temperatures of 36 to 40 °C will be recorded during the same period in the provinces of Tarfaya, Nouaceur, Rabat, Salé, Skhirate-Temara, El Jadida, Safi, Meknes, Larache, Guelmim, Agadir Ida-Ou-Tanane, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Sidi Ifni, Tiznit, Benslimane, Berrechid, Essaouira, Casablanca, Mediouna, Mohammadia, and Tan-Tan.
In addition, heavy thunderstorms with a chance of hail and gusty winds (25 to 30 m
m) are expected on Monday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the provinces of Tarfaya, Assa-Zag, Midelt, Ifrane, Tan-Tan, Guelmim, Es-Semara, Boujdour, Laayoune, Oued Ed-Dahab, Aousserd, and Boulemane, the same source added.
